Thanks for the great sessions you did with me. Shirley, you’re amazing! You were right on in tuning into the name “Artemisia” when I asked for help connecting with a spirit guide – a strong, independent, creative woman. You clicked into “Artemisia” and stuck to it even though we couldn’t figure out who that might be. Well, I googled it: Artemisia Gentileschi (July 8, 1593–1652) was an Italian Early Baroque painter, today considered one of the most accomplished painters in the generation influenced by Caravaggio. In an era when women painters were not easily accepted by the artistic community, she was the first female painter to become a member of the Accademia di Arte del Disegno in Florence. She painted many pictures of strong and suffering women from myth and the Bible and made a specialty of the Judith story, where she heroically saves Israel from the Assyrians by decapitating their leader, Holofernes. So … you led me to a strong, independent woman. An artist (me a writer) who painted another strong, independent woman named Judith (MY name). Like I said, Shirley, you’re amazing! – Judy
